Largest Hotels: MGM Grand Las Vegas Hotel Accommodations

The year was 1973 and the Las Vegas strip in Nevada was buzzing with excitement. Among the other Las Vegas hotels, the MGM Grand had opened its doors. This super-resort overshadowed all the surrounding Las Vegas hotels. MGM boasted over 2,000 rooms, a 26 story tower, the world's largest casino and five entertainment lounges.
However this, the most prestigious of Las Vegas hotels, was soon met with disaster. In 1980, a tragic fire spread throughout the MGM and potentially ended the dream. However the largest hotel was rebuilt in 1993, just farther down the Strip. The MGM now had over 5,000 rooms and boasted it was the largest hotel not only of the Las Vegas hotels, but of all the hotels in the United States.
Arriving at this Las Vegas hotel today will invoke feelings of awe. The new MGM offers much more than the original version. Being the largest hotel of the Las Vegas hotels, it has four, 30 story towers filled with guest rooms and suites; each offering different hotel accommodations to suit any desire. Some of the different choices include breathtaking views of Nevada, Italian marble bathrooms, whirlpool tubs, vaulted ceilings, gigantic mirrored hot tubs and even 300 thread count Anichini sheets coupled with a down comforter. Of all the Las Vegas hotels, MGM has some of the most lavish lodging available.
The luxurious rooms are not the only hotel accommodations overwhelming the senses. The casino is the largest of any of Las Vegas hotels. Covering over 170,000 square feet, this casino offers excellent gaming. Table games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow Tiles, Caribbean Stud and many more are available. Relaxing takes on new meaning with a swim in one of the five pools, floating down the 1,000 foot lazy river pool, or just lounging in one of the whirlpools. Surrounded by waterfalls and a beautiful tropical landscape; it feels like an exotic getaway from the Las Vegas hotels norm.
As if the pool complex was not enough, a 29,000 square foot spa is offered at the MGM. It offers 20 treatment rooms for pampering, manicures, pedicures and massages. Surrounded by sculptures and the sound of moving water, specially trained professionals provide service with knowledge and care. For Las Vegas hotels, the MGM offers the utmost in spa treatments.
The MGM is home to a great assortment of shopping, some of the best of all Las Vegas hotels. Taking a stroll down Starlane Walk or Studio Walk will burn a hole in any shopper's pocket. Some of the enticing shops include Las Vegas Harley Davidson, Grand Candy, Photo Magic, Bernini, The Watch Boutique and CBS Television City. Besides shopping, the MGM offers a wedding chapel, two golf courses rated in the top 100 in the United States, the world-class Cristophe Salon and the Las Vegas Monorail.
